Annual Luncheon
More than 950 members and guests attended the London Hilton on Park Lane at the 2009 Annual Luncheon.
BFFF was delighted to have the generous support of its sponsors for this occasion – thanks go to Peter McNeil of Westbridge Foods, sponsors of the audio visual services, and also to Malcolm Walker and Nigel Broadhurst of Iceland Foods who gave their continued support to sponsoring the seating brochure. Also, thanks to Mike Dewar of One, our partner in promoting frozen foods to the consumer, who sponsored the reception for the President and his top table guests.
During his speech, President, Paul Freeston of apetito, called for “reality not rhetoric” from the Government, stating that the food and drink sector is the largest manufacturing sector in the UK and emphasised that it was time to take politics and sound bites out of food and concentrate on policies that support our industry. The challenge of such complex issues as sustainability make it even more important that BFFF continues the progress in its work on behalf of its members.
The after dinner speaker was comedian Rod Woodward who kept everyone laughing with his Welsh slant on British comedy and earned many positive comments from guests at the end of the day.
Thanks for all those that attended and for being such a great audience. Who could wish for a better gathering of people?
