Producer Importer Broker Committee

Representing members from the Producer Importer Broker sector of our industry, the committee provides a forum to enable members to raise industry issues and also to contribute the view of the PIB sector to help BFFF decide strategy and action. The Producer/Importer/Broker Committee enables members to raise sector issues for the Federation to act upon and also to contribute the view of the PIB sector to pertinent issues. There is also a unique opportunity for the committee to liase and network with the Wholesale Distribution Committee to the benefit of both BFFF and the membership as it can enable issues affecting both sectors of membership to be discussed openly and effectively. The Chair, Vice-Chair and 3rd sector representative also serve on Executive Council. The company has processing facilities based in Hereford and Wolverhampton employing in the region of 2,000 people in the UK, as well as production plants in Ireland, France and Holland.

Peter Allan is General Manager & Director for Cargill Meats Europe, responsible for the import and distribution business managing the off shore supply chains to the EU market. Peter has been with Cargill for 15 years.

Established 29 years, Summit Foods manufacture frozen microwavable hand held snacks and ready meals under our brand Snacksters and both cooked and raw sausages and burgers for wholesale and further manufacturing. Vanessa joined the business in 1998 and now is the owner. Her role within the business is Technical Sales director, and has a BSc in Food Industry Management.

Eicke Bittner joined Henry Lamotte in 1993, after 5 year gaining general business practice in sales in forwarding and logistics and is responsible for all export-activities towards the European food industry.

Since 1993, Eicke has built his customer base/gained experience all around/outside of his homemarket in Germany, namely Scandinavia, Benelux, Eastern Europe and Southern Europe.

Henry Lamotte supply food-manufacturers as well as wholesalers and distributors.

Peter Denolf is MD of Snack Food POCO LOCO which is together with Discovery Foods  UK part of the Paulig group (Finland).    Snack Food POCO LOCO and Discovery Foods Ltd are a leading manufacturer of tortilla chips, wraps and Mexican food solutions for retail, foodservice and B2B both in frozen and ambient.

Previously he was MD of PinguinLutosa Foods UK and integrated the acquired activities of Padley’s, Lutosa and Salvesens frozen foods into the Pinguin UK activities.  Peter has been working for over 16 years within the frozen industry.

Bernard Matthews Farms offers British turkey products for retail and foodservice.

Duncan was involved within the Foodservice sector for most of his career but then wanted to experience life working for Branded Manufacturers and Joined Premier Foods in 2005 and oversaw the Foodservice integration of Campbell’s and RHM. Duncan joined Bernard Matthews in August 2009.

Beginning his working-life as a chef, Paul’s career has included time as a catering manager, senior food and beverage manager and catering director at a number of high profile operators and suppliers. Lyons Seafoods is a highly regarded and recognised seafood business supplying a wide portfolio of products - from sustainable king prawns and shellfish to salmon and white fish.

Meadow Vale Foods is a leading supplier of value added protein products to the UK and mainland European foodservice and retail markets. Primarily concerned with poultry products Meadow Vale has European manufacturing assets and is also an importer managing off shore supply chains to EU.


Nigel O'Donnell has been Meadow Vale’s Commercial Director since 2007 and has been with the company for over 10 years.

Philip’s career in the food industry began in 1980. He has been associated with “Snowbird” from it’s inception and has been Managing Director since 2003.

One of the new area’s of our development has been in the supply of our award winning puff pastry to the frozen sector.
